As of this month, the latest AND1 footwear for the 1^st and 2^nd quarter of 2014 have arrived locally.  For adults, two (2) new styles are now out – the Master 2.0 Mid (three colorways), and the Backlash Mid (three colorways).  The previously released Rein Slides come out with three new color options, and for kids, three colorways of the Master 2.0 Mid are now also available.

In my honest opinion, the Backlash Mid is the highlight of this batch.  Shoe specifications include: Low-Sew construction that provides reduced weight and a seamless fit, ventilation windows and mesh tongue that allows comfort and great breathability, plus high quality EVA sockliner that gives excellent cushioning.  Its TPU shank provides arch support and stability while the L2G design ensures optimal court feel.

Both the Mens’ and Kids’ models of the Master 2.0 Mid offer the following: Synthetic leather upper that is 20% lighter than leather, quarter molding that gives lateral medial support, and a molded collar design that provides extra ankle support.  Its internal High Rebound EVA midsole provides superior cushioning, while the heel airbag design contributes additional heel cushioning.  Finally, the injected TPU heel clip provides extra stability and the non–marking, molded rubber with herringbone design provides multi–directional traction.

AKT!V stores and AND1 outlets has just received additional stocks of 2013 footwear for the 1^st  and 2^nd quarter of the year as of last week.  Five different colorways (aka the Rocket Fun Pack) of the Rocket 3.0 Mids are now available locally; plus a new model, the Splash Mid.

Since last week, AKT!V outlets have already received their stocks of the latest AND1 footwear for the 1^st and 2^nd quarter of 2013.  For adults, three (3) new styles are now out – the Master Mid (two colorways), Entourage Mid, and the Backlash Low (two colorways).  The previously released Guardian Mid comes out with another colorway, as well as the Orbit Mid (two more versions).  For kids, two colorways of the Master Mid are now also available.

In my honest opinion, the Entourage Mid is the star of this latest drop.  A performance shoe that combines comfort and weight reduction, this latest AND1 model has the Hybrid Low-Sew tech and internal mesh to help cool the feet.  Its unique L2G philosophy improves reflex, quickens reaction, and amplifies performance while herringbone tread outsole provides solid grip.  The Entourage Mid has already been previously featured in Shoe News back in October 2012 (click HERE for the blog article), with the upcoming 5 Elements Pack.

The Backlash Low on the other hand seems to be another postgame shoe that offers a breathable seamless upper design and mesh tongue that increase coolness, while molded collar and asymmetrical toe design add comfort and support.  Don’t sleep on the Master Mid though – its synthetic leather upper combined with quarter molding and mesh tongue offers lightweight support and breathability.  It also offers high quality sockliner and airbag with internal web design in the heel to add increased comfort, support, and shock absorption while multi-directional herringbone tread outsole enables 360° movement.

For the young ballers, the one pair that sticks out is the all-black colorway of the Master Mid.  Just in time for shopping in preparation for the new school year, this pair will look with any pair of PE shorts or jogging pants.  Bonus points for the Master Mid as it also comes out in white/royal blue/black – a perfect choice for the young baller who wants to match his dad’s Master Mid in the same colorway.

Got word last Friday (March 16) that the AKT!V outlet in Glorietta 4 already received their stocks of additional 2012 footwear for the 1^st and 2^nd quarter of the year.  Three different colorways of a new shoe model are now available locally, the highly anticipated Elev8 Mid; plus a new colorway of the previously released Straight Cash Mid.

Personally, it appears that the Elev8 Mid gives out the Hyperfuse/Crazy Light vibe (from the swoosh and the three stripes, respectively) but has a different “streetball” air about it, which is distinguishably And1.  Initially available in three colorways (green/white,   white/black, and white/navy), a pair retails for Php 4995.

The new colorway of the Straight Cash Mid (grey/black) is now also ready for purchase at Php 3995 a pair.  Instead of leather/rubber finish, it has a suede feel which might need some care when using outdoors.

New models have arrived since February 20 and are now available for sale c/o And1 Fukuoka (Japan).  As we have reported last February 8 (click HERE for the article), And1 Fukuoka’s shoe rack is well-stocked!
