The Philadelphia Mans Basketball League (PMBL) in partnership with BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation and AND1 recently held a basketball youth camp in Treasure Beach, Jamaica last July 30-August 3, 2012.  As posted in the BREDS FB fanpage, “this camp sees 18 US College coaches delivering professional training sessions to 150 youth each day this week Mon - Friday. PMBL raised funds to donate solar lights and stands to Treasure Beach Sports Park & Academy.”

Part of this joint effort with the PMBL of giving back to the community and promoting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and true basketball spirit, AND1 also donated pairs of basketball shoes for the use of the youth camp attendees.  I’ve mirrored a lot of images that I was able to gather online for everyone’s viewing pleasure, plus posted a Youtube video c/o the PMBLeague.

The Philadelphia Mans Basketball League (PMBL) will be hosting its All Star Game this weekend, July 6 at 7pm.  The league’s Season Three skills showcase, where only the top ballers of the PMBL will be playing, will be in full display at the Palestra in Philadelphia.  With the league being co-sponsored by AND1, representatives from Kicks magazine (SLAM), Rucker Park, and the AND1 Live Streetball Tour will all be in attendance.

Part of the PMBL ASG highlights are the following events:

-         Slam Dunk Contest

-         Three Point Shooting Contest

-         Skills Competition

AND1 and the PMBL host the Shore Classic 3-on-3 Tournament

AND1 has recently partnered with the Philadelphia Mans Basketball League (PMBL) in bringing the 1^st Annual Shore Classic 3-on-3 Tournament held last June 23 (Saturday) in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  The PMBL is one of the premiere basketball leagues in the United States which boasts of combining “the most popular elements of fantasy sports and high level recreational athletics”.  As Center City’s only professional league for young professionals, the PMBL produces Philly’s “most competitive, fastest growing and most interactive basketball social network”.

The League is made up of Philly male athletes from the ages of 21-40, who work in the fields of law, medicine, professional sports, pharmaceutical sales, hospitality, and real-state, among others.  Find out more about the PMBL by checking out this link.

The Shore Classic outdoor 3-on-3 tournament was played on the courts of Ocean City in New Jersey from 10AM til 6pm.  This event aimed to raise awareness and generate funds and donations for the following notable causes: CTCL Lymphoma Cancer Fighters group (for breast cancer research), the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and the inaugural PMBL Jamaican Youth Basketball Camp coming this July.

As with any other 3-on-3 competition, each team required four (4) players who needed to pay $60 each in order to join.  The winning team got complimentary PMBL Season Three All-Star jerseys (resembling throwback ABA All-Star jerseys from the 1970s).  As a bonus, all registered players from the tournament were entitled to a free after-party at the Club Revel (The Boardwalk, Metropolitan Avenue) by 10pm.
